Community Support

The Swift Cantrell Skatepark.

Due to the growing population of skateboarders, safety concerns and the need for positive healthy activities for our youth a world-class 30,000 sq. foot facility is being designed by Newline Skateparks. An internationally renowned skatepark design firm, Newline is known for their creative designs and eye for developing attractive public spaces.

The skate park will be located in a 42-acre park in Kennesaw Georgia. Kennesaw is a suburb of Atlanta that was recently selected by Family Circle magazine as one of the nation's "10 Best Towns for Families”.  The park is less than 3 miles off      I-75, about 15 miles outside the I-285 perimeter.

Other plans for the park include a recreation center, performing arts center, an indoor/outdoor aquatic center, a dog park, jogging trails, playgrounds, disc golf and an amphitheater.  When completed, Swift-Cantrell Park will serve as the premier recreation, relaxation and central gathering place in the area.

The Swift Cantrell Skatepark is being designed and built with money through fundraisers, small business support, corporate donations, and support of the local municipalities.

There has been overwhelming positive support from the local community, Mayor & city council, law enforcement and businesses.   The skatepark committee has also had tremendous support from local media with several articles appearing in the Marietta Daily Journal, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Creative Loafing as well as several other local and community newspapers.

What People are saying about the Swift-Cantrell Skatepark

“We are very much in support of creating a skateboard park at Kennesaw’s Swift-Cantrell Park.  We want to give skateboarders in Kennesaw, Cobb County and the entire region a fun, exciting and safe place to come and enjoy themselves and to participate in this exciting sport.”

-Kennesaw Mayor Leonard Church

A skateboarding facility at Swift-Cantrell Park would allow young people to enjoy this activity in a safer and more positive environment, and hopefully keep them from skateboarding in areas that are either undesirable or unsafe

                         -Kennesaw Police Chief Tim Callahan

"In an age when kids are more likely to play video games than exercise, we're excited to have a place that encourages the area youth to get out and participate in physical activity. This skatepark will be a great addition to the community"

-Jane Felix, President, North Cobb High School PTSA

"Being a parent myself, I am all about having places in the community where kids can go to have fun.  To be able to have some fun of my own and do some cool artwork in order to contribute towards this skate park was an easy decision for me."
                                    -Todd McFarlane Creator of Spawn
